Youtube recently gave their first ever "Visionary Award" to the Queen of Jordan for her efforts to eliminate stereotypes pertaining Muslims and Arabian individuals,as reported by the AFP.The website faciliates video sharing between users,and has grown into one of the most utilised social networking sites used to date.
The Queen launched a channel on the website that provide a platform for individuals to discuss ideas about stereotyping.It has so far been reported to have generated three million views and thousands of message from visitors
Of the site,and her award,Queen Rania of Jordan was quote as stating "Youtube encourages us to be active participants in a global conversation,making our voices heard,giving us the power to broadcast ourselves,increasing knowledge of each other,breaking down the barriers between us clip by clip."Queen Rania is the wife of King Abdullah II of Jordan.
